Information You Choose to Send
Terms Entered in Search Tools
When you type a name, location, or other terms into a search tool, that request is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. The provider processes the query under its own practices and privacy terms. Owsley County Recent Arrests does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.
Emails and Other Messages
If you send an email or submit a contact message, we keep the information needed to read the request and respond. Those communications are not shared outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law or a valid legal process.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Basic technical information may be recorded when a page loads. This data helps the site function, reveals broad usage patterns, and supports troubleshooting. It may include:
- Your Internet Protocol address
- Your browser name and version
- Your device category and operating system
- The pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when one is supplied
- The date and time associated with a visit
How Cookies Work Here
Cookies and similar browser storage may be used to understand how visitors move through the site and to support site features. You can block or delete cookies through your browser controls. If you do, some functions may respond differently or may not work as intended.
Reasons We Use Information
Information collected through the site is used for a limited set of operating purposes:
- Maintaining reliable and responsive pages
- Sending search requests to the appropriate outside search partner
- Understanding which resources visitors find useful
- Finding, diagnosing, and correcting technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect general interests
Privacy on Linked Services
Pages may link to the Three Forks Regional Jail roster, Owsley County and sheriff resources, Kentucky court or corrections portals, and outside search services. Once you follow one of those links, the destination's privacy policy and data practices control your activity there. This Privacy Notice does not govern an outside website.
Advertising partners may use their own technology to recognize activity across different websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking occurs through the partner's systems, not through records maintained directly by Owsley County Recent Arrests.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may nonetheless be handled by specific service providers or disclosed when the law requires it, including:
- Search partners that receive and process submitted queries
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and site use
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure ads
- Law enforcement agencies or other government bodies acting under a valid legal order
Our Approach to Security
We use standard, reasonable safeguards intended to protect information from improper access, alteration, or loss. No website, network, storage system, or Internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. We therefore cannot promise that a breach or security failure will never occur.
Privacy for People Under 18
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted personal data should use the Get in Touch page to request its deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on the law that applies to you and the information we hold, you may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of personal data associated with you
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Delete information that may lawfully be erased
- Stop or limit certain forms of processing
These choices apply to information controlled by this site. Requests concerning a jail roster, court record, agency page, or partner service must be sent to the organization that controls that information.
